My arrival in Delft was well-timed to coincide with the national Dutch holiday, Koninginnedag (Queen’s Day), during which everyone took to the streets for food, live music, the largest boot sale (flea market) in the world and a wonderful time! The weather was uncharacteristically clear and sunny for springtime in the South Netherlands. I have yet to meet a person here who doesn’t speak English, which greatly facilitates everyday conversation.
